Our Culture And Ethics

This is our principle philosophy and is borne out of many years' experience working in a professional practice environment. Our existing clients would confirm our ongoing commitment to this philosophy.

Our advisers have achieved Chartered status, this being a significantly higher level qualification than the minimum required by the Financial Conduct Authority, demonstrating our technical expertise.

Our clients feedback that they trust us implicitly to take care of their financial plan. Accordingly, they stay with us for the long-term, usually for life.

This may sound obvious but potential conflicts can arise in many ways. We actively seek to avoid any such conflicts and will disclose any potential conflicts in advance. Examples can be provided on request.

Fees will be explained and agreed before any work is undertaken. Our fee structure reflects our time input in carrying out the work involved and our liabilities and regulatory obligations relating to this work.

Sustainable
investment

Our portfolios have the flexibility

to incorporate environmental and

sustainability impact considerations without impacting risk or expected return. Our definition of sustainable investment is the pursuit of economic growth and development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations.

We embrace charitable giving and are always open to sponsoring clients and associates who commit to undertaking tasks for a variety of charities. Trident also support local charities.

Creating A Strategy For Your Life Stage

Mountain Climber

This is the phase at which we look to accumulate and build capital to a level that is required for specific events such as; house purchase, education fees, holiday home, retirement, children’s weddings; to name just a few.

Wealth accumulation is achieved through on-going investment and long-term growth on such investments. Typically this stage commences in early employment and ends at retirement. The longer the period of investment, the better the outcome tends to be.

However, everyone will have different requirements, so we work with you to understand yours and build an individual financial plan accordingly.

Snowy Mountains

We all reach a stage where the capital value built is required to provide an income. Typically, this commences at retirement or part-retirement, albeit there may be other events before this where capital or income is required.

This is known as the wealth decumulation stage. This process requires careful management to ensure your standard of living can be maintained over a long-term. This will include careful consideration in relation to the level of income drawn and the investment strategy. It is common for risk to be reduced during this stage compared with the accumulation stage.

Your circumstances and requirements will be unique to you and we will design an individual financial plan accordingly.

Wealth Preservation

Many of you, although not necessarily all, will want to preserve your wealth in order to pass this onto beneficiaries, during your lifetime and/or through your Estate.

There are multiple facets to this stage, some involving portfolio strategies and others relating to Inheritance Tax planning.

We will make no generic assumptions on this issue but instead discuss this with you to understand your own individual wishes and priorities. We will then develop your financial plan to take account of these.
